From Sunday 18th February we’re making changes to some of our routes across Halifax & Huddersfield, including frequency increases, to improve punctuality across the network and provide more services to get you from A to B.

Introducing the Elland Line

We're enhancing our services for quicker and more frequent journeys connecting Huddersfield, Halifax, and Elland.

Buses up to every 7/8 mins | from 4.00am until midnight | connections 7 days a week

Elland Line 501
The current 503 service will be renumbered to 501 and will run along Acre Street, New Hay Road, and Trinity Street in Huddersfield to provide a vital link between the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital. The service will continue to connect Lindley, Ainley Top, West Vale, Elland, and Salterhebble with Halifax and Huddersfield.

Elland Line X1 - NEW
For a more direct journey between Halifax, Elland and Huddersfield, your new service X1 will take the fast route, running along Halifax Road, Calderdale Way, and Huddersfield Road.

New service for Siddal

We’ll also be making changes to buses between Norton Tower and Siddal into Halifax.

541 | Halifax to Norton Tower via Hopwood Lane [limited morning & evening journeys]

  • There will be minor timetable changes to improve reliability.
  • Buses will no longer run through to Siddal and will terminate at Halifax bus station.

542 | Halifax to Norton Tower via Parkinson Lane

  • There will be minor timetable changes to improve reliability.
  • Buses will no longer run through to Siddal and will terminate at Halifax bus station.

543 | Halifax to Siddal - NEW

  • Your new service between Siddal and Halifax.

While the main route remains the same around Siddal, there will be an adjustment in Halifax town centre. Buses will now travel along Bailey Hall Road and King Street on their journey to and from Halifax town centre. Due to these changes, please note that stops along Water Lane, South Parade, Union Street, and Market Street will no longer be served.

Changes to 370 / 371 / 372

370 & 371 | Huddersfield to Lindley, Rawthorpe, and Dalton

There will be minor timetable changes to improve punctuality and reliability.

372 | Huddersfield to Almondbury

Buses will only run between Almondbury and Huddersfield, with the final stop at Huddersfield bus station. For those heading to Lindley or Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, hop onto the connecting services 370, 371, or 501.

Halifax – Elland - Huddersfield

Service 503 will now operate as service 501 between Halifax, Elland and Huddersfield.

New service X1 will provide a more direct journey between Halifax, Elland and Huddersfield.
Services will now terminate at Halifax Bus Station, not Market Street.

Frequency increases are supported by funds from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s (WYCA) Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

Halifax – Thornbury - Leeds

Adjustments to timetables mean that services will depart Halifax at 40 minutes past the hour and depart Leeds at 04 minutes past the hour.

Monday-Saturday – additional evening journeys will run between Halifax and Leeds with the last bus from Leeds at 22:54.

Sunday service will now operate every 75 minutes.

509 / 510 / 511 / 512 / 513

Halifax – Mixenden Circular

Timetable changes will take place to enhance punctuality and reliability.
This service will now operate into/from Halifax Bus Station.

521 / 522 / 523

Halifax – Illingworth Circular

Timetable changes will take place to enhance punctuality and reliability.
This service will now operate into/from Halifax Bus Station.

Huddersfield – Stainland - Halifax

Timetable changes will take place.

541 / 542 / 543

Norton Tower – Halifax - Siddal

Service 541 and 542 will now operate between Halifax and Norton Tower only.
Service 543 is a new service operating between Halifax and Siddal.

These services will now operate into/from Halifax Bus Station.

548 / 549

Halifax – Brighouse - Huddersfield

Monday-Saturday – service 548 will now operate every 30 minutes between Halifax and Rastrick, combining with service 549 to create a 15 minute frequency to Rastrick.

Service 549 will now continue from Rastrick through to Huddersfield, creating a 30 minute frequency to Huddersfield.

Additional early morning journeys will operate providing earlier trips into both Halifax and Huddersfield.

An hourly evening service will now operate between Huddersfield and Brighouse, replacing the Team Pennine service 547.

Halifax – Queensbury - Bradford

Timetable changes will take place to enhance punctuality and reliability.
Additional evening journeys will operate with the last bus from Halifax at 22:50 and from Bradford at 23:30.

Halifax – Sowerby Bridge - Sowerby

This service will now operate into/from Halifax Bus Station, with minor timetable changes to reflect the change. For inbound journeys, the last stop before Halifax Bus Station will be Bull Green. Crown Street will not be served. For outbound journeys, the service will stop at Waterhouse Street and George Street after leaving the bus station.

Halifax – Ripponden - Commons

This service will now operate into/from Halifax Bus Station, with minor timetable changes to reflect the new route. For inbound journeys, the last stop before Halifax Bus Station will be Bull Green. For outbound journeys, the service will stop at Waterhouse Street and George Street after leaving the bus station.

Halifax – Todmorden – Rochdale/Burley

Timetable changes will take place to enhance punctuality and reliability.

Monday-Friday and Saturday daytime – services will run every 20 minutes between Halifax and Todmorden.

Two buses each hour will continue to Burnley, and one bus an hour will continue to Rochdale. Some additional services will run between Todmorden and Rochdale to maintain a 30 minute service.

At peak times, buses will continue to run every 15 minutes between Halifax and Todmorden, continuing through to Rochdale or Burnley on alternate journeys.

Sunday-Thursday late evenings – service 592 will only operate between Hebden Bridge and Burnley.

Additional early morning journeys will be added between Todmorden and Halifax.

Journeys currently operating via Newsome Road will now operate as service 307.

Service 308 to Holmfirth will no longer serve Cross Lane or Hanging Stone Road and will now operate via Newsome Road and Woodhead Road.

From Honley, outbound services will no longer service Meltham Road and Bradshaw Avenue and will now operate via Bradshaw Road and Long Lane.

All short journeys outbound to Honley will serve Cross Lane and Hanging Stone Road.

Huddersfield – Honley - Holmfirth

Timetable changes will take place to enhance punctuality and reliability.

370 / 371

Lindley - Huddersfield – Rawthorpe/Dalton

Timetable changes will take place to enhance punctuality and reliability.

Lindley – Huddersfield - Almondbury

Service 372 will operate between Huddersfield and Almondbury only. The section of journey between Huddersfield and Lindley will be served by service 501.

The frequency of the service will be up to every 15 minutes on a weekday and up to every 20 minutes on a Saturday.

The service will commence from Huddersfield Bus Station.

373 (NC)

Huddersfield – Huddersfield New College

Service NC will now operate as service 373.
The service will commence from Huddersfield Bus Station.
Timetable changes will take place to retime peak journeys and withdraw low use journeys.

501 / 503 / X1

Halifax – Elland - Huddersfield

Service 503 will now operate as service 501 between Halifax, Elland and Huddersfield.

New service X1 will provide a more direct journey between Halifax, Elland and Huddersfield.
Services will now terminate at Halifax Bus Station, not Market Street.
