From Monday 9 November 2026, services 601, X1, X2, X5 and X11 will be diverted due to a one-way road closure on High Street in Maltby.
The changes are expected to remain in place for approximately six months, depending on the completion of the roadworks. Please check the information below before travelling, as some routes and timing points will change.

Journeys will start outside Maltby Job Centre on Grange Lane, then travel via Salisbury Road and Chadwick Drive before resuming the normal route. |

X1 Sheffield Moorfoot to Maltby, Quilter Road |
The Maltby, Queens Hotel timing point will be removed. Towards Sheffield, buses will divert via Grange Lane and Salisbury Road before rejoining the normal route at Chadwick Drive. |

X2 Sheffield Moorfoot to Maltby, Salisbury Road |
The Maltby, Queens Hotel timing point will be removed. Towards Sheffield, buses will travel via Braithwell Road and High Street/Rotherham Road before resuming the normal route. |

X5 Sheffield Interchange to Maltby |
Buses towards Maltby will terminate outside Maltby Job Centre. Towards Sheffield, journeys will divert via Salisbury Road and Braithwell Road before rejoining the normal route. |

X11 Sheffield Interchange to Doncaster |
The Maltby, Queens Hotel timing point will be removed. Buses towards Maltby will terminate at Maltby Job Centre, with journeys from Doncaster diverting via Grange Lane, Salisbury Road and Chadwick Drive. |

Maltby Service Changes
From Monday 9 November 2026, a one-way road closure on High Street in Maltby will affect services 601, X1, X2, X5 and X11.
Please see the revised routes below and check your journey before travelling.
From Monday 9 November 2026, until further notice
Service 601 will operate a revised route from Maltby.
From Maltby:
- Commence outside Maltby Job Centre on Grange Lane.
- Turn left onto Salisbury Road.
- Complete the loop to the Chadwick Drive stop.
- Resume the normal route from Chadwick Drive.
From Monday 9 November 2026, until further notice
Service X1 will continue to operate to its normal terminus at Quilter Road. The Maltby, Queens Hotel timing point will be removed.
Towards Sheffield:
- From Muglet Lane, continue straight across onto Grange Lane.
- Use the timing point outside Maltby Job Centre.
- Turn left onto Salisbury Road.
- Complete the loop around to the Chadwick Drive stop.
- Resume the normal route from Chadwick Drive.
From Monday 9 November 2026, until further notice
The Maltby, Queens Hotel timing point will be removed.
Towards Doncaster:
Service X2 will continue to operate its normal route. The Queens Hotel timing point will no longer be served.
Towards Maltby:
Service X2 will continue to operate its normal route to the Salisbury Road terminus. The Queens Hotel timing point will no longer be served.
Towards Sheffield:
- From Salisbury Road, turn left onto Braithwell Road.
- Turn right onto High Street/Rotherham Road.
- Resume the normal route towards Sheffield.
From Monday 9 November 2026, until further notice
Service X5 will operate a revised route to and from Maltby Job Centre.
Towards Maltby:
- Continue along Rotherham Road/High Street.
- Turn left onto Grange Lane.
- Terminate outside Maltby Job Centre.
Towards Sheffield:
- From Maltby Job Centre, turn left onto Salisbury Road.
- Turn left onto Braithwell Road.
- Turn right onto High Street/Rotherham Road.
- Resume the normal route.
From Monday 9 November 2026, until further notice
The Maltby, Queens Hotel timing point will be removed.
Towards Doncaster:
Service X11 will continue to operate its normal route. The Queens Hotel timing point will no longer be served.
Towards Maltby:
- Continue along Braithwell Road.
- Turn left onto High Street.
- Terminate at Maltby Job Centre.
From Doncaster towards Maltby:
- Turn right from Tickhill Road onto Grange Lane.
- Turn left onto Salisbury Road.
- Continue around to Chadwick Drive.
From Maltby Job Centre:
Follow the revised routing via Salisbury Road and Chadwick Drive as described above.
