If you enjoy a bit of playful competition, challenge yourselves to an evening of slinging axes at Whistle Punks, located right in the city centre in Millenium Square. Each session is 70 minutes long with plenty of time to practise and perfect your throwing before you go head-to-head in a tournament to determine who’s the axe throwing champion. Their social lanes provide a fun atmosphere where you can mingle and banter with strangers in between throws, with these lanes starting from £20 per person. Enjoy throwing darts is a semi-private oche playing area for only £11 for a 90 minute session and with a maximum capacity of 12 people, it is ideal for a double date. Music loving couples look no further, the perfect date night can be found at The Domino in the Grand Arcade. Enjoy a night of live jazz music at this hidden underground bar during one of their Hardbop and Beyond evenings every Thursday night, or if you are looking to explore beyond jazz visit on a Friday evening where they celebrate jazz, blues, reggae and soul during their The Domino Sound gigs. Their bar is staffed with some of the best talent in the country meaning their drinks are nothing short of amazing. Alongside their extensive variety of wines and beers, is their seasonal cocktail menu that features re-works of their favourites, timeless classics and delicious signature mixes from their very own team.


Food & Drink

Whether you're new to the world of wine, or are a seasoned wine pro, wine tasting at Lazy Lounge is a great way to shake up date night. This informal introduction to wine includes tasting seven different wines as well as some tasty food pairings that will enhance the flavours. Each wine tasting session runs for around 2 and a half hours and costs only £30 each. These sessions take place on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and on Sundays at 4:30pm. Wine isn’t for everyone and if this is the case for you, similar weekly gin tastings are also available.

North Brewing Co Tap Room is the perfect alternative, modern and quirky venue for a date night with excellent food and exciting drinks available. There are two city centre venues to choose from with one located along New Briggate and another only five minutes from the train station on Sovereign street that serves delicious bao buns from Little Bao Boy. Serving an unparalleled drinks selection with a rotating tap list showcasing top class craft beers, a selection of Belgian classics in the cellar and a selection of wines and cocktails on tap. Their famous Bloody Mary cocktail and the wide variety of drinks that are there to explore will make this date night unforgettable. 

There are plenty of amazing restaurant venues in Leeds City Centre to choose from if you are looking to grab a bite to eat on your next date night. Challenge dinner date norms by creating your dream pizza with unlimited toppings for £12 at Pizza Punks. Their famous hospitality and great playlists create punk vibes and a good time. Enjoy one, or a few, of their amazing cocktails alongside your meal to make the night complete. 

For a different vibe head on over to Kino, an exciting new restaurant located in a newly renovated Grade II listed Opera North building on New Briggate. They have an amazing wine list, craft beer and cocktail menu that is available alongside their constantly evolving menu sourced from local ingredients. Over the next few months Kino will host guest chefs and kitchen residencies, like Mor Mor, to keep the menu fresh and new.
