Strike Action
Cornwall RMT Strike Action: Friday 9 August to Monday 12 August 2024 inclusive
The RMT have announced two days of strike action on Friday 9 August and Monday 12 August, along with two days of industrial action withholding overtime on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August.
Across these dates, there will be some disruption to our Cornwall by Kernow and Adventures by Bus services. Customers should visit our website and social media feeds for the latest information on which services will run.
"We are disappointed at RMT members’ decision to announce further industrial action in Cornwall.
“We are focussed on trying to resolve industrial action, which needlessly impacts the customers who rely on our services. The door is open to negotiations, and we urge our RMT Union colleagues to halt the action and to engage with us. In the meantime, we are concentrating on minimising disruption for our passengers. Further updates on services will be made available shortly.” First South West spokesperson

Emergency Closure Service N1 & T3: Higher Fraddon to Indian Queens
Due to an emergency road closure affecting Higher Fraddon and Indian Queens we will be unable to serve any stops between the Posta Pizza mini roundabout and Indian Queens Chapel Road.
This will affect services N1 and T3.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Services towards Newquay
Buses will bear left at the mini roundabout by Posta Pizza and turn right up St Columb Road by the Co-Op. At the top, they will turn left along Moorland Road and right at the mini roundabout through the Industrial Estate and take the fourth exit at the roundabout under the A30 to proceed down the dual carriageway to Halloon Roundabout. They will then take the second exit onto the A392 towards Newquay where they will resume their normal of route.
Truro-bound services
Buses will proceed from White Cross direct to Halloon Roundabout (not turn right to go over the railway crossing) and take the third exit and up the dual carriageway. They will then take the first exit at the big roundabout under the A30 through the industrial estate, turn left along Moorland Road and then right down St Columb Road. They will then turn left at the bottom along Park Road to the Posta Pizza roundabout and resume their normal line of route.

Service U4 & Lands End: Fore Street and Turnpike Hill, Marazion
From Wednesday the 2nd of October to Thursday the 3rd of October, there will be closures along Fore Street and Turnpike Hill, Marazion between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
This will affect the U4 and Lands’ End services.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Buses will follow their normal line of route until Marazion Cemetery. They will then then turn around at Trevener Lane and head back to the roundabout and take first exit onto A394 follow along until Newtown Roundabout where they will take the first exit off. They will then travel down Newtown Lane, turning left at the end and carrying on passed the care home and turn around at Feliskirk Lane where they will resume their normal line of route serving the bus shelter at the carpark.
The same will apply in reverse.

Service U4 & Lands End: Marazion Remembrance Service
The Remembrance Service in Marazion Cornwall will be taking place on Sunday the 10th of November 2024 between the hours of 10:00 and 14:00.
This will affect the U4 and Lands’ End services.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Buses will follow the normal line of route until Marazion Cemetery, then turn around at Trevener Lane and head back to the roundabout and take first exit onto A394.
They will then follow along until the next roundabout, take the first exit and follow on passing the care home. At the end of the road, buses will turn left, follow the road and turn around at Feliskirk Lane where they will resume normal line of route serving the bus shelter at the carpark.
The same will apply in the reverse.

Service U4: Castle Drive, Praa Sands
From Monday the 16th of September to Wednesday the 18th of September, there will be a road closure along Castle Drive, Praa Sands between the hours of 19:00 and 07:00.
This will affect the U4 services:
Penzance 19:15
Falmouth 19:50 & 21:50
Helston 20:50 & 23:50
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Buses will carry on along the A394, serving Newtown bus stop and Germoe Crossroads.
Please note that Buses will not be able to serve Praa Sands at these times.

Services U1, U1A, U1E, U2 & U4: Helston Road, Penryn
From Thursday the 29th of August to Friday the 30th of August, there will be an overnight closure along Helston Road, Penryn between the hours of 19:00 and 07:00.
This will affect services U1, U1A, U1E, U2 & U4 travelling from The Moore to Penryn Campus.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Outbound.
From Penry Bridge, buses will carry on along the B3292 along Church Road and The Praze. They will then turn left down Brown’s Hill and re join their normal line of route along Treliever Road.
Inbound.
Services will not be affected
Please note that service will not be able to serve from Quay Hill to Station Road outbound.

Service U1, U1A, U2 & U4: Penryn Fair
Penryn Fair Day will be taking place on Saturday the 24th of August between the hours of 10:00 and 17:30.
This will affect services U1, U1A, U2 & U4.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Outbound.
From Penry Bridge, buses will carry on along the B3292 along Church Road and The Praze. They will then turn left down Brown’s Hill and re join their normal line of route along Treliever Road.
Inbound.
From Harbour View, buses will turn left onto Brown’s Hill, carry on to the top and turn right onto The Praze. They will then travel down the B3292 and resume their normal line of route at Penryn Bridge.
Please note that service will not be able to serve from Quay Hill to West Street and Station Road.

Service U1 & U1E: Perranporth Carnival
On Saturday the 27th of July, Perranporth Carnival will be taking place between the hours of 18:45 and 21:00. This will affect the U1A and U1E service.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Service U1A/U1E Newquay to Truro
The 18:12, 19:00 and 20:00 from Newquay to Truro will follow normal route into Perran Sands entrance. They will then turn around then retrace route to Goonhavern, turn right along A3075 passing the White House to Chiverton Cross Roundabout, and then to Goonbell. From here they will turn right to go around the back road of St Agnes then turn left and resume their normal line of route into St Agnes Peterville.
Service U1A/U1E Truro to Newquay
The 18:35 and 20:31 from Truro to Newquay will follow the normal route through St Agnes past Wheal Kitty turn, then take right turn using the back road to Goonbell. Thet will then travel via Chiverton Cross, along A3075 passing the White House to Goonhavern, and then go to Perran Sands entrance, turn around and resume their normal line of route.

Truro Classic car show
On Sunday the 28th of July, Truro Classic car show will be taking place closing Boscawen Street and Lower Lemon Street, Truro.
This will affect services operating from Truro Bus Station.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
Services T1, T2, U1, U1A
Inward from Rail Station, buses will drop off outside Museum then go to Victoria Square and back to Ferris Town. They will then turn right up past the Law Courts and take the back road passing the NCP car park to Trafalgar Roundabout, then into the Bus Station.
Outward, buses will go to Trafalgar Roundabout and turn left. They will then go along St Austell Street, passing the NCP car park, pass the Law Courts and turn left to go past the Museum and into Victoria Square. From here they will pick up outside Mallets and resume their normal line of route to the Rail Station.

Service P&R1, T1, T2, T3, U1, U1A, & U1E: Higher Town, Truro
From Wednesday the 17th of July to Saturday the 27th of July, there will be closures along Highertown Station Road, Richmond Hill and Ferris Town, Truro between the hours of 19;00 and 06:00.
This will affect service: P&R1, T1, T2, T3, U1, U1A, & U1E.
Buses will be diverting as follows:
P&R 1, T1, T2 & T3
Towards Truro Bus Station
Buses will go straight over Sainsburys roundabout, following the main road all the way down to Tesco Roundabout at the bottom of Morlaix Avenue. Then second exit there and turning left into the bus station.
Leaving Turo Bus Station - High Town:
Buses will follow the same route in reverse.
U1, U1A & U1E
Buses will travel via Lemon Street and Fairmantle Street in-bound and out-bound from Truro.
