• Effective
    23/02/2026 - 23/02/2026

From Monday 23 February 2026, we will be making permanent changes to services 71 and 63 in the Bridgend area to improve local accessibility and provide better direct links to key destinations.

More details can be found below, with maps to follow.

Service 71 will be rerouted to serve the residential area of Pen-y-Fai, improving access to Bridgend, Coity Road/POW Hospital, Sarn and destinations further up the valley to Cymmer. On Mondays to Saturdays, selected journeys will continue to interwork with service 70 at Bridgend Bus Station. This allows customers from Pen-y-Fai to travel directly to the Princess of Wales Hospital and Coychurch Road without changing buses. Customers should check the timetable to see which journeys continue beyond Bridgend as a 70/71.

During daytime off-peak hours, some journeys on service 63 will operate as 63B, providing improved coverage for Kenfig Village. All stops in North Cornelly will continue to be served, and services will terminate at the usual destination. Every third 63 will operate as 63B:

  • Monday–Friday: approximately 09:00–16:00
  • Saturdays: approximately 09:00–16:00

During periods when the 63B operates, South Cornelly experiences a reduction of one bus per hour. All stops in North Cornelly remain served by services 63 and 63B which maintains current service levels and destinations.
