The covid pandemic has had a significant impact on bus patronage nationally, our habits and way-of-life have changed immeasurably. We're making changes to our services in accordance with how and when people are travelling across the working week and at weekends.

Here's a summary of the changes and new timetables can be viewed here

Service 30 – To improve reliability, changes are being made to the Monday to Friday afternoon peak timetable. There will also be a change to the Sunday timetable to provide better connections in Crowngate Bus Station.

updated Service 31/31A – After discussions with Worcestershire County Council, it has been agreed this service will operate every 30 minutes Monday to Friday during the main day and hourly on Saturdays.

Journeys operating between 0915 & 1415 will operate as a 31A and the buses will run via Comer Road / Laugherne Road in both directions. All other journeys will operate as the current 31A route but be re-numbered as the 31.

Two new stops will be installed on Comer Road in due course, in the meantime customers can alight/board the bus as follows;

Outbound - on Comer Road, just past the Comer Avenue corner (electricity pylon)

Inbound - on Comer Road, approximately outside house number 127

Service 32 – Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables. Peak time journeys to/from Kempsey and Baynhall will remain.

Service 35 - Changes are being made to the Sunday timetable to provide better connections in Crowngate Bus Station.

Service 44 - Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables. This service will no longer operate on Sundays.

Service 45 – Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables.

Service X50 - To accommodate students travelling into Worcester for the Sixth Form College, we have amended the 0705 weekday journey from Worcester to Evesham to 0635. This creates an earlier return journey from Evesham at 0735 instead of 0805.

Service 51 - The Worcester to Evesham journey will no longer operate. The Worcester to Pershore High School journey will remain.

Service 144/144A - Re-numbered 144, all journeys will now operate between Worcester & Catshill. Buses will operate every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 60 minutes on Sundays. Journeys between Casthill & Birmingham will no longer operate.

Service 420 - The 0715 journey will now leave at 0705 to provide an earlier arrival time into Worcester.

Upcoming Diversions from 2 April

SERVICE 675/676 – WEST MALVERN ROAD

Due to the closure of West Malvern Road on Wednesday 03 April 2024 for 3 days for roadworks, services 675 and 676 will need to divert via Wyche Road in both directions. A shuttle bus service should be provided by Worcestershire County Council although we have not had details sent of this.

SERVICE 44 – MALVERN ROAD

Due to the closure of Malvern Road between Hanbury Park Road and Lower Wick island in Worcester, service 44 will be diverted on Tuesday 02 April for 3 days. Service will be diverted via Bromwich Road in both directions serving all bus stop along this road in lieu of the ones omitted on Malvern Road. This includes the inbound to Worcester bus stop on the roundabout itself.

SERVICE 35/144 - FOREGATE STREET

Due to the closure of Foregate Street in Worcester on Sunday 07 April for resurfacing works, services 35 and 144 will be diverted out of Worcester City Centre.

Service 35 – This service will be diverted after Crowngate Bus Station and will be unable to serve Sansome Street bus stop. It will resume normal route in Lowesmoor and serve the Lowesmoor bus stop as usual.

Service 144 – This service will be diverted after Crowngate Bus Station and will be unable to serve Foregate Street Rail Station bus stop. It will resume normal route on The Tything and serve all other bus stops.

PUBLIC REALM FOOTPATH RECONSTRUCTION SCHEME – WORCESTER CITY CENTRE

We also have a closure on Angel Street in Worcester City Centre from Monday 08 April for approximately 14 weeks.

This will mean services coming towards Worcester from Bath Road and London Road will need to divert via Cathedral and Deansway and access Crowngate Bus Station via The Butts. This means City Walls Road will not be served for this period of time.
Services arriving from Lowesmoor will be diverting from St. Nicholas’ Street via Foregate Street, Castle Street and access Crowngate Bus Station via Angel Place.
Services arriving from The Tything will be diverting via Castle Street and access Crowngate Bus Station via Angel Place.
Services arriving from the West of the City are unaffected by this.

We are expecting severe delays in peak periods during this closure to all services affected.
