Inclusive communities: Creating first-time opportunities

As part of our commitment to building inclusive communities, First Bus partnered with Huddersfield Town to give children from Thornhill Junior & Infant School their first-ever match day experience.

Travelling on one of our zero-emission buses, pupils and their parents were able to enjoy a free, accessible and sustainable journey to Accu Stadium. On arrival, they were welcomed by First Team player David Kasumu before joining supporters to watch Town secure a 3–1 win.

Each child received a copy of our environmental storybook Tinyfoot and Evie’s Adventure to Tiny Street and a soft toy of Evie the electric bus, helping spark conversations about greener travel. The club also provided gift bags to make the day even more memorable.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to widening access to culture, sport and positive experiences for young people in the communities we serve.
