Outbound
Bus to proceed along normal route until mini roundabout at top of Dorchester Road, 2nd exit Littlemoor Road. Continuing along Littlemoor Road until Bincombe roundabout and 3rd exit. Continuing along Littlemoor Road at Chalbury Corner roundabout bus to take 1st exit Preston Road. Continuing along this road until Warmwell Cross Roundabout, 1st exit A352 towards Dorchester at Max Gate Roundabout, 1st exit and joining onto the A35 Westbound. At Stadium Roundabout 3rd exit Weymouth Road and continuing to normal route. 

Inbound
Same as above but in reverse. 

Supplementary hourly shuttle service running from Weymouth Kings Statue – Upwey (Sunday ONLY)

Due to urgent tree works on the A354 the Ridgeway is closed from 0900-0600 Monday. 
 
Services will divert via Littlemoor Road, A352 Osmington, Broadmayne into Dorchester in both directions 
 
A supplementary shuttle service will run from Weymouth Kings Statue - Upwey Elwell Street from 09.20 - 18.20 and Elwell Street from 09.45 - 18.47.

On Sunday 8th December, Service 10 will be diverting between Broadwey Church and Dorchester via Broadmayne. As a result, stops between Broadwey Church and Upwey Elwell Street will be unavailable, leaving a significant distance to the nearest alternative stops.

To support affected passengers, we’re introducing an hourly supplementary service between Weymouth King’s Statue and Upwey Elwell Street. This service will run from 09:20 to 19:02, except for the 13:15 outbound and 13:51 inbound journeys due to driver break requirements.

The supplementary service will depart 5 minutes later than the regular scheduled Service 10.

Due to a temporary road closure from 9:30-15:30, the following diversions are in place:

Outbound

Normal route until Lulworth Car Park. Bus will then divert via Church Road then back to the main road. Then via Wareham Road, Burton Cross Roundabout, A352 Dorchester Road until Wool Railway Station and continue the normal route. 

Inbound

As above but in reverse.

We cannot serve: War Memorial, Castle Inn, Castle Inn, Coombe Keynes Turn or Primary School.

Note:  Jesty’s Avenue will be served in both directions for passengers requiring ‘upper’ Dorchester Road.

Heads up! Our new winter timetables are launching on Sunday, 20th October 2024 as part of our regular network review.

Created using feedback from bus users, as well as First Wessex drivers, the changes include the retiming of the morning service for Weymouth College students, with the first journey from Beaminster timed to help students connect at Bridport.

In partnership with Dorset Council, the trial diversion of the X51 to serve Martinstown and Winterbourne Steepleton will also continue during the winter season. Passenger numbers will continue to be reviewed to assess the route’s long-term viability.

The X53 route which is currently running on diversion while works take place at Goose Hill in Portesham, will continue with the temporary route and shuttle service T53 until 8 November.

Alongside this are the usual reduction of some services for the winter season, in particular on the Jurassic Coaster services (X51, X53, X54).

Full list of changes:

• Route 1 – Journey times revised to account for winter season traffic levels. No changes to frequency.
• Route 2 – Frequency reduced to every 20 mins Monday to Saturday. A half hourly service continues on Sundays with revised journey times.
• Route 4 – Frequency reduced to every 40 mins daily
• Route 8 – Sunday service reduced to operate 10am to 5pm only and journey times revised throughout to account for winter season traffic levels.
• Route 10 – Frequency restored to every 15 minutes Monday to Friday, every 20 mins Saturday and every 30 mins Sunday with journey times revised throughout to account for winter season traffic levels.
• Route X51 – Sunday service withdrawn for winter season and journey times revised throughout to account for winter season traffic levels. In partnership with Dorset County Council, route X51 will continue to serve Martinstown and Winterbourne Steepleton during the winter season.
• Route X53 – Journey times revised to account for winter season traffic levels.
• Route X54 – Frequency reduced for the winter season. Please check the timetable.
• Route CR6 – The first journey from Beaminster will now depart at 7.04am to ensure a connection at Bridport for students travelling to Weymouth College.
