    20/09/2026 - 20/09/2026

From 20 September, we'll be making some seasonal changes to timetables across Dorset for the winter months.

Most services will continue to operate throughout the winter, with some routes seeing changes to frequencies or running times. The 55 and X52 services will also be paused for the winter period.

Service 1 – Weymouth-Portland

Buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes, Monday to Sunday, maintaining the summer frequency.

Running times have been adjusted to reflect lower levels of traffic during the winter months.

Service 2 – Weymouth-Brisbane Road

The summer peak frequency of every 12 minutes will reduce to:

  • Every 15 minutes, Monday to Saturday
  • Every 20 minutes on Sunday

This is still an increase compared with winter 2025, when buses ran every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 30 minutes on Sundays.

Evening journeys operating via Chalbury Corner will start earlier, following changes to the Service 4 timetable over the winter.

Service 3 – Weymouth-Weymouth

There will be an increase in frequency, with buses running every 45 minutes instead of every 50 minutes.

Additional early morning and evening journeys will also be introduced to support commuters.

The route will have a small change north of Mayfield, with buses diverting via Radipole Lane to serve The John Gregory in Southill, before continuing via Sycamore Road and returning to the usual route.

Service 4 – Weymouth-Preston

The timetable will be revised for winter, with the peak frequency changing from every 20 minutes during the summer to every 35 minutes.

Operating hours will also be reduced during the winter period.

Service 8 – Weymouth-Chickerell

As is customary during the winter months, operating hours will be reduced.

The last buses will depart from Weymouth at:

  • 8:00pm Monday to Saturday
  • 4.20pm Sunday

Service 10 – Weymouth-Poundbury, Mansell Square

Buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes, Monday to Saturday.

On Sundays, buses will operate every 20 minutes and will serve Peverell Avenue.

Running times have also been adjusted to reflect lower levels of traffic during the winter.

Service X51 – Weymouth-Dorchester-Bridport-Axminster

The X51 will return to its winter timetable.

Buses will operate mostly every two hours, Monday to Saturday, with no Sunday service.

Running times have been extended compared with winter 2025 to help improve reliability.

Service X53 – Weymouth- Bridport-Axminster

Running times have been revised to reflect winter traffic conditions, with no change to Monday to Saturday frequencies.

Last buses will run earlier, and a two hourly service will operate on Sundays.

The service will continue to operate via Lanehouse and Wyke Road.

Service X54 – Weymouth- Wareham-Swanage

Buses on route X54 will no longer extend to Swanage.

Journeys will instead finish at Wool or Wareham.

The service will also operate Monday to Saturday only, with no Sunday timetable.
