FREE FIRST SOLENT TRAVEL FOR SERVING ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL, CADETS AND VETERANS ON REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Bus operator First Solent are offering free travel on all of its services in Fareham, Gosport and Portsmouth, including our Solent Ranger services, X4/X5 serving Southampton, to serving Armed Forces personnel, cadets and veterans so they can attend commemorative events on Remembrance Sunday, 13th November. The company’s buses are already proudly displaying their poppies.
To claim free travel, all current and former military personnel need to do is wear their uniform, show their medals or their military ID card.
Simon Goff, Managing Director for First South, said: “Every year it becomes more crucial to honour the servicemen and women who have fought in past wars, as well as their friends and family on this National Day of Memorial, Remembrance Sunday.
“We feel it’s important to show our respect and to treasure the memory of the fallen, so we do what we can to help, by offering free travel to serving Armed Forces personnel, cadets and veterans on our First Solent buses. Hopefully making it a little easier for them to attend commemorative events in southern Hampshire.”
Please note that bus drivers may decide to carefully pull over where safe to do so, to honour the two-minute silence at 11am on 11th November.
