Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park
The park covers 50 acres of beautiful countryside adjoining the River Avon between Keynsham and Saltford. Portishead
Located just 5 miles from Bristol, this stunning coastal town in North Somerset is easy and convenient to get to from Bristol. Overlooking the Severn Estuary you can even see Wales on clear days! The Great Bristol Run will be taking place on Sunday 11th May 2025
Various roads around Central Bristol will be closed - between 04:00 and 17:00, unless different times are stated against the service numbers below.
If your service is not listed it will operate normal route.
Severe Disruption and Delays are expected to most of our services between 07:00 and 19:00
All services that are diverted along Upper Maudlin Street (past the BRI Hospital) and Park Row will observe the bus stops on both sides of the road outside the BRI (stops H1 and H2) as well as Park Row stops U4/U5.
Bus stop S1 (opposite McDonald's on Bond Street) and S8 (outside the old Debenhams building on Bond Street), and on the slip roads at Old Market (Bond Street/Temple Way) will also be observed by services diverting that way.
There is a map on the attachments at the bottom of the page to assist you on with which additional bus stops will be available.
The Ship Lane bus stop on Clarence Road (just after Bedminster Bridge roundabout) will be observed by all services from Bedminster towards the city centre.
There will be Supervisors at various locations to assist with any enquiries.

Services 1 & 2 heading towards Cribbs Causeway will operate normal route as far as Temple Meads then divert via Temple Way, taking the slip road onto Old Market Roundabout and take the slip road back off onto Bond Street South, onto Bond Street to St James Barton roundabout (Bear Pit), then use Marlborough Street past the BRI onto Park Row to resume normal routes at top of Park Street.
Services 1 & 2 heading towards Broomhill/Stockwood will operate normal route as far as the top of Park Street then divert via Park Row and Marlborough Street onto St James Barton roundabout (Bear Pit), down The Haymarket into Bridewell Street and onto Nelson Street to access the Horsefair to resume normal route

Services 3 and 4 heading towards Broadmead will operate normal route as far as the top of Park Street then divert via Park Row, Marlborough Street, St James Barton roundabout, Haymarket, Bridewell Street and Nelson Street and terminate at Nelson Street.
Services 3 and 4 heading towards Cribbs Causeway will commence from Lower Union Street, Rupert Street will divert via St Johns Bridge onto Lewins Mead, Marlborough Street and Park Row to resume normal route as the top of Park Street.

Service 24 heading towards Ashton will operate normal route as far as The Haymarket then Rupert Street, right into St Johns Bridge onto Lewins Mead around St James Barton roundabout into Bond Street then around the Newfound Road gyratory onto Bond Street South and take the slip road onto Old Market roundabout back down onto Temple Way, past Temple Meads, and around Bath Bridges, left into Clarence Road resuming normal route from Bedminster Bridge.

Service 37 Severn Beach to Knowle Will operate the reverse of above
There will be no service from Winterstoke Road (Marsh Lane) and the Portway (Park Road) due to race restrictions and passengers are advised to plan accordingly if travelling to and from Severn Beach.
Service 41 heading towards Kingswood will operate normal route as far as the traffic lights at Shirehampton Road and Sylvan Way but instead of turning right into Sylvan Way will continue past Sea Mills Square then divert as a service 4 until the top of Park Street then divert via Park Row, past the BRI to St James Barton roundabout then take the second exit onto Bond Street South (observing bus stop S1), around the Newfoundland Road gyratory onto Bond Street and take the slip way up to Old Market roundabout to resume normal route.
Service 41 heading towards Avonmouth will operate normal route as far as St James Barton roundabout then divert via Marlborough Street then Park Row to follow the service 4 route to sea mills Crossroads for normal route to Shirehampton.
From 15:00 to 17:00, services heading towards Kingswood will operate normal route as far as the Jacobs Wells roundabout then diver via Jacob Wells Road, Clifton Triangle then as above to Old Market.

From 13:30 services will divert from Bus Station via Haymarket, Marlborough Street, Park Row and Jacob Wells road to resume normal route on Hotwell Road.

This service will not be able to serve the guideway until 14:45 but will stay on Clarence Road/Temple Way diversion until 16:00. All bus stops on Coronation Road will be observed in both directions whilst the service is on diversion.
Services m3 & m4 will terminate and commence your journeys from Lewins Mead.

Services heading towards Bristol will operate normal route as far as Jacobs Wells roundabout then turn left into Jacobs Wells Road, Clifton Triangle, Park Row and Marlborough Street to the Bus Station. The bus stop at the bottom of Jacob Wells Road will be observed.
Services heading from Bus Station will divert via The Haymarket, St James Barton roundabout, Bond Street, around Newfoundland Road gyratory, Bond Street South, Temple Way, past Temple Meads Station to Bath Bridges roundabout, Clarence Road, Bedminster Bridge roundabout into Coronation Road resuming normal route on Brunel Way and Winterstoke Road bus stop.

Due to roadworks as part of the council active travel scheme, Bradley Stoke Way northbound will be closed to traffic and as such services m1 towards Cribbs Causeway and T1 towards Thornbury will be diverted to use Winterbourne Road, Orpheus Avenue and Baileys Court Road to resume normal route at Great Meadow Roundabout. Please expect some delays.

The Great Meadow stop will not be able to be served, but buses will instead serve the Great Meadow Roundabout stop on Baileys Court Road. No other bus stops on the diversion will be served.

Due to ongoing travel improvement along the Victoria Street corridor, Victoria Street will be closed in the northbound direction (towards the city centre) from 31st March 2025. Temple Meads Station stop T7 at the end of Victoria Street will be closed.
Routes 1 and 2 towards Cribbs Causeway, 2a towards Brentry and 72 towards UWE Frenchay will instead stop at Temple Meads Station stop T2 on the main road (Temple Gate), and then divert via Temple Way and Counterslip to resume their normal route at Bristol Bridge. Buses will additionally serve stop T8 on Temple Way.
Routes 39/X39, 172, 349, 374, 375, 376, 376a and 522 will stop at Temple Meads Station stop T2 as normal, and then divert via Temple Way and Counterslip to resume their normal route at Bristol Bridge. These routes will also additionally stop at Temple Way stop T8 on the diversion.

Southbound buses, travelling from the city centre towards Temple Meads Station, will not be affected and will operate their normal route.
