Bristol Airport Flyer

The Bristol Airport Flyer is the dedicated airport express link that serves Bristol Bus Station, Bristol City Centre, Temple Meads Railway Station and Bristol Airport.

Operating 7 days a week, 364 days a year (not operating Christmas Day), journeys run up to every 12 minutes daily. The Bristol Airport Flyer stops at the coach park (Bristol Airport Bus Station), a short walk from the terminal building, making it the most convenient way to travel to the Airport.

All buses are fitted with leather seats and free on-board wi-fi.

Timetable and stops

The A1 operates a limited stop service, only stopping at certain bus stops.

Towards Bristol Airport, buses serve:

  • Bristol Bus Station (Bay 8 or 9)
  • The Centre (stop C1)
  • Queen Square (stop Q1)
  • Temple Meads Station (stop T6)
  • Redcliffe Way (stop R4)
  • Redcliff Hill (stop R3)
  • Bedminster Parade
  • Dalby Avenue ***Stop closed until summer 2024 - a temporary stop is in position 170 metres prior***
  • West Street (metrobus stop by Job Centre)
  • Parson Street Station
  • Bishopsworth Road
  • Then all stops to the Airport (except the Fox & Goose)

Towards the City Centre, buses serve:

  • All stops from the Airport to Winford Grove, then
  • Chessel Street (on West Street)
  • East Street
  • Bedminster Parade
  • Redcliff Hill (stop R2)
  • Redcliffe Way (stop T3)
  • Temple Meads Station (stop T6)
  • Queen Square (Q2)
  • The Centre (C2)
  • Bristol Bus Station

At the Airport, buses serve the Terminal Building forecourt, picking up from Stand 1.

Tickets include connecting travel on any First Bus in the Bristol Zone onto/from the Bristol Airport Flyer, meaning you can make your whole journey for one great price.

Where to buy? 

  • Use Tap On, Tap Off. Just tap on with a contactless card or device, and tap off when you leave, and we'll do the rest! Connecting travel on our other buses will automatically be included at the correct prices. Tap On, Tap Off covers adult prices only for Singles and Day Returns. If you need a Period Return (valid for one month), please ask the driver for this as Tap On, Tap Off is not compatible with these tickets. For full information, please see our Tap On, Tap Off page.
  • Purchase from the driver using a contactless card (all ticket types available), or our drivers still accept cash, too.
  • Some foreign bank cards may not be accepted by our ticket machines.

Other tickets

  • English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes are not valid for travel to or from the Airport on service A1. They are valid on other parts of the route.
  • Local fares are available for all customers between Hobbs Lane and Winford Grove/Bishopsworth Road stops, for travel to or from Bedminster and Bristol City Centre. These are: £3.30 Adult Single/£6.30 Adult 2-Trip, £2.50 Student Single/£3.00 Student 2-Trip, £1.00 Child Single/£1.80 Child 2-Trip. Normal airport fares apply for trips which include Airport Tavern and Fox & Goose stops.
  • Discounted tickets are available for Airport staff and staff of businesses along parts of the route. Please check with the Airport for full details.
  • Customers with local resident concessionary scheme passes issued by the Airport are entitled to discounted fares. Eligible local residents can apply for these scheme passes through the airport. These passes also entitle holders of English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes free travel to and from the Airport.
  • Standard First Bus, BristolRider and AvonRider tickets are not valid for travel on this service.
